The term Mentor has been adopted in English as a term meaning someone who imparts wisdom to and shares knowledge with a less experienced colleague.
The ICF (International Coach Federation) definition for Mentor Coaching is:
“For purposes of credentialing, mentor coaching means an applicant being coached on their coaching skills rather than coaching on practice building, life balance, or other topics unrelated to the development of an applicant’s coaching skill.”
I offer coaches wishing to apply for their ICF credential either at ACC (Associate Certified Coach) or PCC (Professional Certified Coach), mentor coaching to prepare them for their assessments and examinations. The mentor coaching offered provides:
- 10 hours of Mentor coaching
- Listening to at least 2 X 30 mins audio recordings of the coach coaching a client
- Feedback on the strengths and development areas needed against the ICF Core Competencies
- Exploration of the level of understanding of the ICF Ethical standards
We do provide group mentor coaching for groups of between 4-8people. The 10 hours required for your credential must have a minimum of 3 hours of individual mentoring with up to 7 hours of group coaching. Please go to www.coachadvancement.com for the dates of upcoming group mentoring which is conducted by Tracy Sinclair and myself.
This service is typically provided virtually over a minimum 3 month period and prepares you for applying for your ICF Credential.
Do contact me if you are a mentor looking to gain accreditation.
